The IW6.5 ambient sound in-wall
monitor is based on the design of the highly acclaimed Mastering
Series 20M monitor. It is designed to produce seamless response
from 28 Hz to 20,000 Hz +/- 3 dB. This bass response is
considerably lower than the THX required response for subwoofer.
Hence no subwoofer is needed.

handcrafted in-house by NSMT
Loudspeakers to give you the performance and imaging you expect
from one of our high quality minimonitors. The driver complement
is a concentric driver array that is time coherent and a true
point source which means both the high frequencies produced by
the tweeter and the mid and and low frequencies produced by the
woofer reach your ear at the same time. Even when the sound is
reflected off the walls you don't get two separate reflected
pathways of the sound (one for highs and one for lows) reaching
your ear at different times, which muddies the sound, but a single
coherent waveform. The time coherent, point source design also
means the sweet spot is not limited to a narrow band in the middle
of the room because no matter where you sit you are equidistant
from the tweeter and woofer of each speaker.
Moreover because the
driver uses the wall cavity to generate subwoofer bass response,
the entire response of the speaker from 28 Hz to 20,000 Hz is
linear and continuous without the phase abnormalities and integration
problems that often plague some in-wall subwoofer systems and
cause suck outs and inconsistencies in the distribution of sound
throughout the room. If you want the refined performance of the
finest monitor loudspeakers few in-walls and subwoofer combos
come close to the performance of the IW6.5-20M in-wall.
