A US Government report delayed for years because of fierce lobbying by manufacturers, strengthened the warning that formaldehyde, found in plywood pressboard that are used to make loudspeakers is a human carcinogen. (NY Times, June 10, 2011.)

 The 100M at the Axpona Audio Show by Stereophile

We presented the 100M driven by Logitec Squeesebox Touch and Peachtree iNova at the Axpona show in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, sponsored by Stereophile. . No bass traps, no props. We simply placed the speakers in the middle of a of one of the worst sounding rooms. Some people said our room was the best sound of the show, some said our room was among the best six, and some said the combinations we desplayed were the best values in the show. We have changed our name but everything else (including warranties and liabilities) remain the same. Read press release.

We have changed our name from NSM Audio to NSMT Loudspeakers. The name change will distinguish our brand from other companies and organizations using the NSM acronym. This is only a brand name change. Ownership of the company has not changed, and all warranties and obligations of NSM Audio are assumed by NSMT Loudspeakers. All payments will continue to be transacted under NSM Audio which will remain the parent company of NSMT loudspeakers.

NSM is named after the first three children of the Company's founder. With the addition of a fourth child there has always been discussion as to when it would be best to change the company's name. Our name change coincides with a shift in emphasis to manufacturing eco-friendly, "green," non-toxic, formaldehyde-free loudspeakers. As we begin to mount a new advertising campaign for our formaldehyde-free loudspeakers, we thought this was the best time to make the name change. Indeed we hope the name change coincides with the publication of the first two reviews of our new flagship, formaldehyde-free, 100M loudspeaker.

"...have you seen the price of many of the off-the-shelf drivers that some companies put in speakers costing anywhere from about $10,000 to $150,000? There’s one well-known US-based company with a mega-expensive flagship speaker that has an obsolete tweeter from a French manufacturer that costs about $20 retail. If you know anything about manufacturer, distributor, wholesaler, and retailer markups, you'll realize that tweeter might be sold by the maker for only a couple bucks. Then there's the $40 midrange driver on a nearly $30,000 speaker. Some people are touting this midrange driver as something really special even though, from what I've been able to tell, you can buy it from pretty much any online driver seller. Factor in all the markups and you'll realize it only costs a few dollars to make these parts for these really expensive speakers."

The New 15EXP Sub-Duo combines two 15EXP passive subs into a single design with our outboard remote controlled  A360 watt amplifier. Over the years we have had numerous requests for visits to our facilities because we do not have a dealer in the area. Our answer has always been the same: We are not set up to accommodate the public. We recently acquired additional warehouse space, and while it is not a fancy listening room, for the first time we can accommodate listeners, albeit on a restricted, appointment only basis. We will accommodate listeners on Saturdays from 12 Noon to 6 PM. You can bring in your loudspeakers and A/B test them against ours. We invite comparisons and hope to get some valuable feedback about our products. However, you must call ahead for an appointment and directions.

The Model 200

After a decade, we will resume production of the Model 200.  The Model 200 It images better than some of the best minimonitors. It uses a slot loaded 15 inch subwoofer to produce truly awesome bass. Its dimensions: 15 inch wide, 18 inches deep, 52 inches high.

New Model 10 and Model 10S released.

New Model 10S	New Model 10

Both the Model 10S and Model 10 have been significantly redesigned around a new woofer from SEAS that in many ways is a redesign of the woofer previously used in the Model 10, 10S, and Model 12. The new driver is 1.5 dB more efficient, and, by redesigning the crossovers we are able to improve the sensitivity of the Model 10S from 82.6 to 87 db at 1 watt/m. The new woofer which features a manually coated paper cone and mechanically matching natural rubber surround provides better midrange response, an exceptionally smooth frequency response, and better off-axis response. Short term power handeling has been improved toa wopping 400 watts.

In the Model 10S the driver crossover alignment has been reworked and the metallized polypropelene capacitor has been replaced by a full value film foil capacitor for better resolution.

NEW MODEL 12 released.

The Model 12 has been updated! The woofer has been replaced with a new woofer from SEAS that offers better dynamic performance, more sensitivity and more linearity. The crossover has been redesigned. The NEW Model 12 offers significantly better performance than the old model.

NSMTModel 10S Amarda system gets rave review:
So, what does $1600 for a tiny monitor buy you? A lot: They only LOOK small, but perform large. The reviews in TAS, Soundstage, and Audioreview are exactly correct. They are right up there with the very best and most expensive, including the top line Tylers, Josephs, Dynaudios, etc. And I've heard them all.
The 10s has a very slghtly warm, smooth midrange,extended sweet treble, and tight, quick midbass (being a minimonitor, there really isn't much beloww 50cps). It images like crazy, and produces those images with a 3D transparency which floats free from the speakers. As I type this, I am hearing Gulda and the Vienna Phil do Beethoven's 3rd piano concerto. Ravishing!Sweet strings, piquant woodwinds,clear singing piano.
Perhaps the most surprising aspect of these is the sheer size of the sound without an audible trace of compression in my 14x11ft dedicated listening room. My taste runs toward large scale symphonic music, which demands solid bass.Coupled with a pair of small NSMTEXP subs ($595ea.) the system is effortlessly within 3db flat down to 25cps.
I recommend them without reservation to any audiophile/music lover with tastes similiar to mine. With this caveat: These are sealed box speakers, so the bass is tight and fast, but they are quite inefficient at 82.5db, so I suspect it would take at least 50wpc to get them to sing, even a farly small room such as mine.

Color brochures for most of our loudspeakers are now available on-line. For an incredibly affordable retail price of $799 you get the BWIC65 subwoofer, the SA100 potent 100 watt RMS subwoofer amplifier, and all the hardware needed for installation. The BWIC65 is very easy to install. You cut a 7.25 inch circular hole for the vent, mount the subwoofer between the 2 by 4s or ceiling joists using the adjustable brackets and 4 screws. That's it. NOW PERFECTLY TIME COHERENT HOME THEATER SYSTEMS

Through extensive research we have developed the best Model 5 ever. In the new Model 5, we use of a horn loaded soft dome neodymium tweeter and a shallow throat carbon fiber woofer and perfectly align their acoustic centers. The result is a loudspeaker that not only improves on the imaging and musicality of the previous Model 5 but one that is more time coherent than most slanted baffle loudspeaker. Because time coherence is achieved without a slanted baffle, which often causes sound to refract off of the portion of the baffle that is ahead of the drivers, the Model 5 has an "openness" that is rarely found at its price point. The close alignment of the tweeter and woofer also makes the new Model 5 a true point source over part of its operating range.

We did not stop there. We applied the same technology to the Model 7. The combination of the Model 5 and Model 7 produces home theater with awesome imaging and soundstaging.
