How good are these speakers?...Very good indeed....Am I selling my Gallo Ref 3's? No. Did I put these in the bedroom after all? Not yet. They are right next to the Gallo's in the living room and have been for the past two weeks. I'm sure I'll eventually switch back over, but for now I'm in sonic bliss.

Model 10S: Ultra Definition Minimonitor

The 10S, "will reward the listener with an extremely neutral and revealing sound, wonderful high-frequency extension without a hint of hardness, and a liquidity in the midrange that allows vocals to soar. Furthermore, it is small and extremely easy to place and cast a huge and vividly defined soundstage that competes with speakers at any cost." (Soundstage.com)

"The [10S] sounded bigger than they looked, with smooth and extended highs and superb imaging...On male speaking voice, I judged the NSMs performance to be slightly better than the B&W [801] reference speaker." (Audio)

"I just migrated from a planar speaker to NSMT10S...I have since heard more instruments in many of my CDs comparing with my previous Maggies." (Audioreviews.com)

Linn Classik and NSMT10S "Micro-High-End works! The combination of the Linn Classic and the NSMT10S has musical flair, that one never expected from the individual components...The NSMT10S loudspeaker can be regarded as a small sensation. Despite its thrifty measurements, it builds musical pictures of incredibly proportions; no question: three stars! The Linn Classik is an adequate partner and proved itself tonally on the level of equally-expensive separate components. Likewise excellent!... Absolutely astonishing! ...despite lacking deep bass... the combination is complete and musical."
(Stereo, Germany, review of NSMT10S with Linn Classic)

"...I found the 10S to be a tad more resolving than the Clef [$1,299], with a little less bloat. ...the 10S shows more detail, has a bit more clarity in the midrange and allows me to see a tad more clearly into the recording. I like the high frequency extension of the 10S a bit better than the standard Clef's...but it was a toss-up when compared against the Super Clef's [$1,599] ...I liked the high-frequency extension of the 10S a bit better than the standard Clefs (it uses a Vifa tweeter), but it was a tossup when compared against the Super Clefs Scan-Speak tweeter -- both sounded extended and smooth, without any hardness or brightness." (Soundstage.com)

"
People who will identify with the 10S are those who appreciate speakers like ProAc Tablette, Super Tablette and Response 1SC, as well as Celestions SL-600 and SL-700..." (Soundstage.com)

"...for an absolute test, I compared to the 10S to some heavy hitters in terms of their ability to be called "monitors" -- in other words, speakers that tell the truth about a recording. Shamrock Audios $3450 Eire and the $2495 TSM-SE from Merlin Music ...While the 10S doesnt quite reach the level of detail of the Shamrock and Merlin speakers, it comes within a close enough distance. (Soundstage.com)

"One area where the 10S did edge out the CHS-2 was in terms of imaging." (Soundstage.com)

"...its smooth highs and its tonally accurate midrange allow timbral details and the most delicate transients to shine through." (The Absolute Sound)

"I can listen to this speakers for 10 hours straight with feeling fatigue (I can't do this is Dynaudio, Kef, Apogee). ...if you hide this speakers behind some curtains, I can swear no one will be able to guess that the speakers is actually so small in size. It's ability to project a huge and stable soundstage is simply unbelievable." (audioreview.com)
